Sustainable fuel in F1 — is 'made from municipal waste' actually meaningful or greenwashing?
Genuine question, not trying to start a fight. F1 is now running fully on Advanced Sustainable Fuels made from carbon capture, municipal waste and non-food biomass rather than crude oil derivatives. On one hand: it's a real drop-in fuel, proven in F2/F3 through 2025, running in every combustion engine on the grid without a single compromise on performance. That's not nothing — it's the kind of fuel tech that could actually reach road cars. On the other hand: F1 still flies 20+ cars and hundreds of tonnes of freight to 24 countries a year. Where do people land on this?
