Porsche Mission X — is a 900-volt EV hypercar actually the 918's true successor?

Porsche's positioning the Mission X explicitly as the spiritual successor to the 918 Spyder, but going full electric with a 900-volt architecture and a claimed power-to-weight ratio of roughly one horsepower per kilogram. The 918 was a hybrid, not a pure EV, so calling this the true successor is a bold framing choice on Porsche's part. What made the 918 special wasn't just the numbers though — it was the sense of a manufacturer proving a new powertrain philosophy at the absolute limit. On that measure the Mission X is doing exactly the same job for the EV era. Curious whether the purists here will accept a pure-electric car carrying that lineage, or whether it needed at least some combustion presence to earn it.
